Bushings for Sprockets, Sheaves and PulleysBushings are made to precise tolerances and available in popular bore sizes. They serve as a hub system that allows adaptation of sheaves, pulleys and sprockets to varying shaft sizes. Common bushing systems offered by Gates are QD® and Taper-Lock®. Use Gates DesignView® program to generate 2D drawings of bushings.

Idlers - sometimes referred to as "Tensioners"
Idlers are used to take up extra belt length and provide adjustment for tensioning belt drives. An idler system can consist of an idler bracket and idler sprocket, or a standard sheave or sprocket used with an idler bushing.

Clamping PlatesClamping plates allow maximum clamping strength for long-length belting used in linear drives. Use them with synchronous long-length belting including Poly Chain GT, PowerGrip GT2, Synchro-Power®, PowerGrip® Timing and HTD belts. The plates are aluminum and bolts are included.

Notes
Sprockets for the Poly Chain GT belts are available in 8mm and 14mm pitches.
Sprocket part numbers are comprised of pitch, number of grooves and width. For example, part number 8MX-48S-12 denotes 8mm pitch, 48 grooves, “S” for sprocket and 12mm width.
On a sprocket, pitch is the distance between groove centers and is measured on the pitch circle of the sprocket. The pitch circle of the sprocket coincides with the pitch line of the belt mating with it. The pitch diameter of the sprocket is always greater than its outside diameter.
Abbreviations used for sprocket materials: GI = Gray Iron DI = Ductile Iron SiS = Sintered Steel CI = Cast Iron
WARNING: Do NOT use these sprockets with rim speeds in excess of 6,500 fpm.
